Find out how to upgrade your holiday favorites to make them taste better and be better for you, too.  Lisa Howard, also known as the Cultured Cook, returns to the Civic Center Library and will teach us how to save money and shopping time by making easy edible gifts for friends and family. She will also bring samples for us to taste!  Come and try some gourmet popcorn, spiced baked pecans and crisp gingersnaps!

Join us as we get into the holiday spirit by welcoming pianist/composer Deborrah Wyndham. She will perform traditional and popular holiday songs and will share some interesting facts about the songs and their composers.

Ms. Wyndham is a highly acclaimed performer whose style can range from contemporary to classical to jazz and ragtime. You may have seen her on FOX, NBC, or ABC TV!

Please join us as Gail Carolyn Sirna presents “In Praise of the Needlewoman: Embroiderers, Knitters, Lacemakers and Weavers in Art,” which will consist of a slide presentation of paintings of women (and a few men) who are sewing, knitting, making lace or embroidering as well as a small exhibit of images of stitchers.

Ms. Sirna is an award-winning embroiderer and regular columnist for Needlepoint Now. She has been teaching needlepoint for over 25 years. She is also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from America’s National Academy of Needle Arts in 2004.

Are we alone in the universe? Join us when Tony Sivalelli, author of Ambassador to the Stars visits the Civic Center Library to help answer that question. Tony is a researcher of the paranormal and uses known and theoretical science, metaphysical studies, and current social themes in entertainment to propose a hypothesis that humanity will have soon have an official answer!
