Stop by the Arthur Miller Library to pick up craft supplies and then follow along with teen staff online during a virtual program!

Tweens and teens can become engineers in miniature by creating their own mini catapult from school supplies during this virtual makerspace.

Supply kits can be picked up from the Miller Library November 10-16. Then register with an email address for the November 17th Zoom meet up to get a walk through creating their catapult and challenge other tweens and teens to see whose catapult can launch marshmallows the farthest!

For ages 10-17 only.

There’s still plenty of nature to see during the fall, tweens and teens are invited to create their very own Nature Journal for sketching and attaching natural items while out and about!

All supplies for the paper bag nature journal can be picked up from the Miller Library October 12-15.

Register with an email address for the October 15 online Zoom meetup at 6:30 pm to get help from Miss Maren on creating their journal and to talk with fellow tweens and teens about the natural items they have already found.

For tweens 10-14, teens ages 15-17 welcome, too!

Fridays, September 11 – December 11, 2020, 11:00 am, Zoom (Civic Center Library)

Come explore the different letters that make up the Alphabet!

Children ages 2-5 are encouraged to join us for a story, a song, and other fun stuff as we “shake up” our usual storytime with a different letter each week! This session we will be starting from the letter ‘A’ through the letter ‘M’.

Parents registering will receive an email link to a Zoom meeting on Fridays at 11:00 am. If you can’t make the Zoom meeting, a recorded version will be available on the library’s Facebook page. Families who register can stop by the Civic Center Library to pick up an egg shaker and scarf to use at each class. Craft and letter worksheets will also be available to pick up every week.

Come join us via Zoom as we welcome Michigan author Abra Berens. Ms. Berens will be discussing her first cookbook, Ruffage: A Practical Guide to Vegetables. Written from her experiences as a chef, former farmer, and everyday eater, Ruffage was named a 2020 Michigan Notable Book by the Library of Michigan.

This program will include a live talk, recipe demo, and question and answer session.

Award-winning author and pop culture historian Marty Gitlin hosts this fun, nostalgic and enlightening presentation based on his book, A Celebration of Animation: The 100 Greatest Cartoon Characters in Television History. He is the only author to actually rank the greatest cartoon characters ever, such as Popeye, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Scooby Doo, Snoopy and SpongeBob SquarePants. He will discuss the criteria he used to rank the best of the best and speak about their impact on American pop culture. Be ready for a fun filled program!
