Part of its 20th Anniversary Celebration, the Piast Institute invites the public to hear Dominik Stecula, Ph.D., author of Polish Americans Today.

Building on his initial book Polish Americans Today: Modern Polonian Leadership, the second edition of the book, Polish Americans Today was published in 2021. Both editions were published by the Piast Institute and were based on surveys. This second edition is the only national survey of Polish Americans and offers the most detailed data-driven look at the Polish American community, according to Stecula. With the lecture, Dr. Stecula will paint a comprehensive picture of American Polonia and focus on the attitudes, demographics, identities, and cultural activities of the Polish American community.

This program is part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Piast Institute. Books will be available for purchase at the lecture. Please register online here.

This program is co-financed from the Polish community funds of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago. More information is available here.

The Warren Public Library is happy to have bestselling author Deborah Goodrich Royce return to discuss her latest novel, Reef Road.

In Reef Road, when a severed hand washes ashore in the wealthy enclave of Palm Beach, Florida, the lives of two women—a lonely writer obsessed with the unsolved murder of her mother’s best friend and a panicked wife whose husband has disappeared with their children—collide as the world shutters in the pandemic lockdown of 2020.

Ms. Royce, a former actress (All My Children, Beverly Hills 90210), has written a book that is receiving rave reviews. In a starred review, Kirkus says Reef Road is “a truly absorbing mystery by a writer at the top of her game”. Publisher’s Weekly adds it “is an expertly paced thrill ride”.

Don’t miss your chance to meet Deborah Goodrich Royce as she discusses her best book yet! For more information and to register, call the Civic Center Library at 586-751-5377 or register online.
