Calling all Star Wars fans! The Warren Public Library and the Detroit Institute of Arts are hosting the New York Times bestselling author Jeffrey Brown!

Jeffrey Brown is the author-illustrator of the New York Times bestselling Star Wars: Jedi Academy series and the Darth Vader series. He is also the author of the Lucy & Andy Neanderthal graphic novels for middle graders and the picture book My Teacher Is a Robot. His newest series is Space-Time.

We have a limited number of spots for children in grades 4-6 to join us via Zoom on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 10:00 am. Teachers and students from several local schools will be joining us as well.

Call 586-751-0770 to register. Warren residents with library cards will receive first accommodation. Everyone (Warren residents and others) must sign up for the wait list. You will be notified and moved to the main list if space is available. Educators in Warren can contact Lisa Martin (lamartin@cityofwarren.org) to request space for their classroom to attend.

Join Terrence Shulman on Zoom for a respectful and thought- provoking presentation about hoarding. We will learn what hoarding is and isn’t, what causes it, and how to best address and treat it. Mr. Shulman is a local attorney, social worker/addictions therapist, and author specializing in assessing, treating, and educating about hoarding.

Tweens and teens can try their hand at solving a mystery by joining a virtual scavenger hunt with MI Library Quest.

An anonymous tip has come in that a thief will steal an iconic Michigan landmark on Valentine’s Day. Follow the instructions on the MI Library Quest website to search for clues hidden on our and other Michigan library websites to figure out who the thief is and prevent the crime.

Those tweens and teens who complete this virtual scavenger hunt by February 14 will be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

The quest runs from January 1-February 14, for tweens and teens ages 10-17.

Please be sure to enter Warren Public Library as your library on the submission form in order to be entered in our prize drawing.
