Join us for a fun night of ninja activities and a special visit from the World Class Institute of Martial Arts as they introduce martial arts. There will also be a lesson on “Stranger Danger” that includes interactive role playing and teaching wrist grab escapes.

We are celebrating the life and works of beloved children’s book author Theodor Geisel, better know as Dr. Seuss with special events at several of our branches in March! Please join us for the festivities!

Dr. Seuss’s Birthday! – Saturday, March 2, 11 am – 12 pm  – Miller Branch Library
Let’s celebrate this famous author by reading some of his wonderful stories. We’ll make some Oobleck to go along with “Bartholomew and The Oobleck” and make a treat to go along with “Green Eggs and Ham”. This program is for children ages 4-11. Registration required; call 586-751-5377 to register.

Come to the Miller Library and enjoy an evening with local author Stephen Mack Jones!

Stephen Mack Jones is a published poet, award-winning playwright, and recipient of the prestigious Kresge Arts in Detroit Literary Fellowship. He worked in advertising and marketing communications before turning to fiction. In 2018, the International Association of Crime Writers presented Stephen with the acclaimed Hammett Prize for literary excellence in the field of crime writing.

Stephen’s first adult fiction book, August Snow, was named a ‘2018 Michigan Notable Book’ by the Library of Michigan. The second book in the August Snow series is Lives Laid Away, which was published in January 2019.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.

With final exams coming up, teens can study or finish assignments at a dedicated study space in the Café next door to the Miller Library, in the Warren Community Center.

The library will provide snacks, coffee, DIY stress-relief balls, a reference librarian, and of course, free Wi-Fi.

For teens in 6th – 12th grade.  Drop-ins are welcome, but feel free to sign up on the library’s event calendar if you’d like a reminder. Please call the Miller Library at 586.751.5377 with any questions.
