Children ages 3-9 can stop by any Warren Public Library branch to pick up seeds to plant vegetables or flowers in their gardens at home. Seeds provided by a generous donation from Gro-Town. (While supplies last, child must be present).

Did you know Juneteenth is the oldest known holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the US?

Join Professor of African-American Studies Kefentse Chike, Ph.D., of Wayne State University at the Miller Library on Thursday, June 8 at 6 pm. Dr. Chike will give an engaging presentation of the historical context and significance of Juneteenth.

Children and teens can stop by any Warren Public Library branch to pick up a free comic book.

Drop-in superhero crafts will be held at Civic Center Library from 9 am – 12 pm and 2 – 4 pm. Stop by the Busch Branch Library from 9:30 am – 11:30 am to make your own comic. No registration is required. Comics are available while supplies last.

Teens ages 10-17 can stop by Civic Center Library at 2 pm to make some Comic Creations. Register online or by calling 586.751.0770 .

100 Years of the Detroit Historical Society captures in words and photographs the little-known story of the people who have been telling Detroit’s stories and preserving its material culture for the last century. Author and Senior Curator of the Detroit Historical Society Joel Stone will discuss his book and sign copies.
