On June 6, 1944 the Allies launched Operation Overlord, a massive invasion of occupied France with one goal: rid Europe of tyranny and oppression. Representatives from the Michigan Military Technical & Historical Society will bring this pivotal moment in history to life at the Civic Center Library with authentic uniforms and equipment. Get an up close look at the life of an American soldier and what he carried with him on the “Great Crusade” to rid the world of tyranny.
