From the time she was a girl climbing sand dunes and splashing in its cool waters, Loreen Niewenhuis has felt connected and drawn to Lake Michigan. She decided to explore the lake fully by walking around it and then wrote a book about her journey called A 1,000 Mile Walk on the Beach. Her next 1,000-mile hike was along the shores of all five Great Lakes which she discusses in her book A 1000-Mile Great Lakes Walk. Her latest book is A 1,000 Mile Great Lakes Island Adventure, which covers her time exploring the islands of the Great Lakes.
Please join us as we host Loreen Niewenhuis. She will discuss her adventures and show us her spectacular photos and videos from the Great Lakes region.
