Romie Minor, librarian/archivist for the Burton Historical Collection at the Detroit Public Library and head archivist for The Parade Company in Detroit, will present a historic and entertaining behind-the-scenes look at the second-oldest Thanksgiving parade in the United States, featuring historic photographs and anecdotes from his book Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Lost Car Companies of DetroitFrom the more than two hundred auto companies that tried their luck in the Motor City, just three remain: Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. But many of those lost to history have colorful stories worth telling.

Local author and historian Alan Naldrett will discuss these tales from his new book about the rise and fall of several of these lost car companies and how these short-lived businesses still had an impact on the auto industry of today.
