The Dorothy Busch Branch Library is named after Dorothy M. Busch, a leader who spent most of her life serving the community.  Mrs. Busch helped form the original Warren Community Library in the early ‘30s.  She served on the Library Commission first for the Warren Community Library and eventually for the Warren Public Library for over 25 years.  She was vice-chairman of the Commission at the time of her death in 1961. Groundbreaking for the new library began in October, 1962, and the building was officially opened on January 7, 1963.

Dorothy Busch Branch Library, today

The Busch Branch Library has spent the last 50 years serving the residents living in the southwest corner of the city.  It is very much a neighborhood library. Over the years, the library has provided residents with a variety of materials to meet their informational needs.  We offer books, eBooks, audiovisual materials in a variety of formats, computer access and fax service.  The Busch Branch Library has a rich heritage of providing programs for children, including craft programs, story times and summer reading programs.  We currently offer Fun After School programs for grades K-5, Family Fun Days, and a story time for toddlers.  We will be adding an Origami Club for tweens in January.  As part of our promise to the residents when they generously passed our millage in 2010, the Busch Branch Library will be renovated in the near future.  We are hoping to expand, update our facility and be able to give our residents a state of the art, comfortable, inviting library.

We hope to see you as we celebrate 50 years of of the Busch Library’s service to the citizens of Warren!
