Join us at the library to view the upcoming annular solar eclipse, in which the moon blocks all but the outer ring of the sun creating a “ring of fire.” The full annular eclipse will be visible over a path that is 125 miles wide in the western part of the United States. Michigan is not directly in the path of this eclipse, but a partial eclipse will be visible. Visit NASA’s website for more detailed information.

It is never safe to look directly at the sun, and this eclipse is no different. Regular sunglasses or camera filters are NOT safe for looking directly at the Sun. You can safely protect your eyes with certified solar-viewing glasses.

Visit the Warren Civic Center Library garden to view the solar eclipse on Saturday, October 14 between 12:45-1:45 pm. The eclipse maximum will be 1:04 pm in Warren. Solar eclipse glasses will be provided for participants while supplies last. Register online or by calling 586.751.0770.

This program will be held weather permitting.
